For more information on the Michigan Alliance for Families Model, contact Sherri Boyd, Caryn Ivey, or Michelle Miller.
Each Michigan Alliance site has a Parent Mentor who lives in the area, has knowledge of disabilities and educational issues, and is familiar with local community resources including organizations, professionals, and other parents. Parent Mentors will connect families with the resources they need, provide information and assistance, host a series of learning opportunities, and help develop leadership skills.

In areas not covered by a Parent Mentor, families can call the Michigan Alliance Information and Referral Offices, which offer comprehensive information and referrals on all disability and education issues involving children and young adults from birth to age 26. Services include:
  • one-on-one support,
  • online and/or printed resource information,
  • referrals to the appropriate community resources
  • learning opportunities available

Click on your county on the Michigan map below or from the drop down box to learn more about the services available in your area. You will find contact information for your Regional Parent Mentor or contact information for the Statewide I & R Office.
